The seminar is for church leaders and members - to assist them to identify and deal with the barriers that inhibit the development of a ministry to, and with, people with disabilities.

WHY??
About 18% of the population have a disability which makes it difficult for them to access local churches independently.

There are many people in church congregations who do not know how to respond to people with disabilities and as a result they feel awkward in approaching people with disabilities.

We are aiming to highlight some of the problems, and offer solutions, faced by people with disabilities in accessing a church.

The topics covered during the seminars include:

Ü A look at the barriers that not only prevent people with disabilities entering Church buildings, but into full fellowship with other Christians.
Ü An overview of different types of disabilities.
Ü Barriers preventing a person attending a church.
Ü A biblical perspective on disability.
Ü A look at practical ways in which people with disabilities can take part in the ministry of the church.
Ü Citizenship in God's Household
